My 25th Birthday
My gift from my boyfriend on my 25th birthday. Love you

Tea
So over the past few months I’ve been noticing a trend starting up on campus. (well..mostly in my classes) Everyone was drinking a hot beverage in mostly every one of my classes!
I totally understand why for your first class of the day in the wee hours of the morning. Well, I felt like an outcast not having a “hot beverage” everyday. So, I began to wonder what these people were drinking. And so began my investigation.
The building where I have classes, the main place to buy these “hot beverages” was Starbucks. Now, me being a poor university student; I knew I couldn’t afford Starbucks on a daily basis. Also, I’m lost with their terminology. They have so many drinks you can order and half of them not even listed and a wide variety of options. As I spoke to people more, I found out that almost everyone of these “beverages” was coffee or lattes. Well, I tried Starbucks coffee once and threw it out after 3 sips. Disgusting! Way to strong for my taste buds. And what I order was the “mildest” type they had. Now, for lattes, I don’t drink milk. So that won’t work. My Starbucks option was pretty much out the window.
I kinda forgot the idea until I began to talk to other people. I found out that these girls were drinking TEA!
Ok I discovered a new option! But, I got lost again on the different kinds of Tea that exist. I remembered that we had some tea at home so I decided to give this a try. Outcome: Total disaster! I found tea to be quite tasteless. My sister (tea drinker) told me I had to add honey to sweeten it a bit. Ok, next day my mom was making tea for my sister so I asked to try some again. Outcome: Disaster, again! This time all I could taste was HONEY! Yuck! I can’t even remember the kind of tea that was but I just remember thinking this was a horribly idea. I decided to stop my adventure and give up on this “hot beverage” trend.
Well, after a few months; while I was working on a group project for school at a friend’s house, she offered everyone tea. Well, me not knowing anything about tea, let the other girls decide on the kind of tea we would have. I said I would try because I exposed my adventure with tea. They reassured me that I would love this kinda. So, I decided to give it a try. Outcome: AMAZING!! This tea was good!!
Finally, I came to an important clue to my investigation! My friends began to talk to me about this store where I could find this particular tea. They spoke about how amazing this place is and how they carry millions of teas (not really…haha) and they help you in the store if your a started. But, the catch: it was a loose tea. Things totally changed because now it’s like: this isn’t a regular tea making process, this is a whole new dimension I need to learn about.
So, when I went home that night, I googled how to “make” loose tea. I read blogs and looked at youtube videos. I discovered that you need to “steep” the tea. (Oooo…) Ok, the next step was learning about the different ways to steep your tea. I also checked the online store to see the different tools they had to steep the tea and the kinds of tea they had. When I thought I had gained enough knowledge, I decided to visit this tea store. Once there, I was overwhelmed! I ended up leaving with the items I had decided on buying beforehand: 2 different types of tea, measuring spoon, tea ball, and mug with steeper. Outcome: Loved only one tea (the one I tried at my friends house), the spoon and mug.
My investigation was closed! Outcome: pretty well!
I started taking “hot beverages” to class after that. I was now living the trend. Problem: I couldn’t take loose tea to school because my steeper was too big to fit my traveling mug!
I just went out and bought some tea from superstore. I took those to school instead. (come in tea bags)
I’ve been wanting a new tea, so I went out last week and bought some new tea. They are both “fine” but I’m not in love with them. But they are great summer tea types. Also, I think I need to just add some honey. But, I began to crave of wanting to take tea to school. So, this past monday I went online and ordered some stuff. I ordered: Davids Tea by Bodum Travel Press, The Daily Trilogy (hope this helps with giving me more energy), The Spring Cloth Bag, and some sweetener. With my order came 3 free tea samples. One of them I already had, so that was no fun. I tried one yesterday and I didn’t like it. Today, I took the other one to school. And OMG, I’m in love! This tea was not-bitter and totally refreshing to drink!! (Organic Papayarama)
I just love discovering new teas that I enjoy to drink. So far there are 2 on my list.
Royal Wedding

Watched the Royal Wedding this morning. It was so beautiful!
Kate’s dress was breathtaking. I love how elegant and simple it was. She pulled it off nicely. My favourite was her veil. I just love it!
I woke up at 5am and caught it just as she was entering the church. I completely forgot about the time difference here in Canada and didn’t check when it would start Winnipeg time. I wanted to start watching it from the start. O well. At least I was able to watch the whole ceremony. I thought it was going to be longer to tell you the truth. But, it’s nice that it wasn’t. I also stayed up to watch their kiss. The first one was short and sweet but the second one was passionate. Just whnt you want to see; their love for one another. I’m glad I was able to watch it. History in the making.

Holiday’s (for a week anyways)
I’m finally done my first year of social work. It hasn’t been too bad. A few assignments were hard to do but they were doable. I got 2 bad marks on 2 essays. Meh.
One exam was extremely hard. It has been my hardest exam yet.
Luckily, I have amazing friends from school who helped me with the exam. It was a take-home exam and we had to watch a movie and make an assessment on the family. Ended up being 32 pages long. (with title page and references) I believe that’s the most I’ve ever written yet for school.
Now, I’m on summer vacation for one week before I go back to summer school.
I have no idea what to do with my free time. Boyfriend said I should relax but I don’t know how. I wish I could go out shopping but our cars are broken and we have been without cars for about 4 weeks now.
I can’t go to yoga because it’s way too expensive and I have no money. I was thinking about joining a gym again but I’m too lazy. I’ll figure something out.
